Тема мероприятия: Викторина недели « Лучший знаток английского
языка»
Цели: проверить лексический запас слов по темам “ Seasons”. “School
subjects”. “The United Kingdom”;
тренировать в употреблении структур в Present Simple:
повторить сравнительную и превосходную степень сравнения
прилагательных;
развивать навыки и умения чтения;
формировать интерес к изучению английского языка.

— Good morning, ladies and gentlemen!
Welcome to quiz of the week “ The best leaner of English” You are the participants of this quiz.
Let’s begin our game. A proverb of the lesson : “ A cat in gloves catches no mice”.
What does it mean? If you want to speak English perfectly you have to be eager to know foreign language and use different ways of learning. Some people write cards and put them near the things at home. We use translations, pictures, definitions. Now let’s make up “ Word networks”.

“ Word networks”
( Заполнение учащимися сети слов на тему « Времена года»)
On this sheet of paper you see a word networks/ In the middle of it I have written the theme of this net “ Seasons”. I have completed only one part. You have to fill the other cells. For each word you get one point.
2) “ English movie”
(Написание короткого смешного сообщения с использование данных слов).
Some people say that word movies is a good way to learn words. You think of funny or silly things. For example, You want to learn these words: elephant, bicycle, ice cream, apple, sky, cloud, blue, pink, car. You think of a silly “ English movie” in your head. It helps if there are famous people in your movie, e.g.
“ There is a beautiful blue sky, with one cloud on it. Suddenly a pink elephant falls out of the cloud. It falls onto a bicycle. It rides the bicycle. It stops and buys an ice-cream from Madonna. She comes out of a house. She throw an apple at the elephant. The apple hits it on the ear.
It’ s a silly ” English movie”. And now try to make up your own silly or funny story with the words: lion, taxi, monkey, river, bridge, banana, deep, boat.
The highest mark is five. I give you ten minutes to write. You can use Russian – English dictionary if you need. Your time has gone. Who wants to read us his story.
“ Different word”
( Нахождение учащимися лишнего слова в группе по лексическим или грамматическим признакам).
The next task: find the different word. For example, in the first row there are four words: television, umbrella, computer, video. The word umbrella is different. Underline it. You can go on.
“ Word square”
( Учащимся предлагается найти слова в квадрате, состоящего из различных букв. Слова нужно выделить по горизонтали и вертикали.) In this square I have marked one word “ maths”. Among these letters find the name of school subjects”.
Teacher: We continue our work. As you know the official language of the UK is English. We have read the text about the United Kingdom and learnt a lot of new facts about this country. Today we are going to revise this information, learn something new and get ready to speak English. Let’s do the first task.
“ Quiz”
Учащимся предлагается вопросы и несколько вариантов ответов. Они должны найти правильный ответ).
On this sheet of paper you can see some questions and answers. You’ll have to tick the correct answer. The right answer is one point. You have 5 minutes to do this task.
“ Codify words”
( Географические названия закодированы с помощью цифр. Каждая цифра соответствует определенной букве английского алфавита. Учащимся необходимо раскодировать эти цифры).
Who will be the first in this task? The codify words are from the geography of Great Britain. Every letter of the English alphabet has its ordinal number. Make up the words. For example: 18, 9, 22, 5, 18 ( river).
“ Equivalent”
( С помощью карточек со словами учащиеся находят слова-эквиваленты).
There are cards on your desks. I’ll say the word and you have to give the equivalent. For example: St. Valentine’s Day – holiday.

“ Street plan” ( Прочитав текст учащимся необходимо расположить символы плана улицы).
Complete the street plan. Read the description below and draw the symbols in their correct position.
“ Duel”
Учащиеся, имеющие наибольшее количество баллов отвечают на вопросы. Выигрывает тот, кто даст больше правильных ответов.
Заключительная часть.
Награждение лучшего знатока английского языка. Оценивание знаний учащихся по итогам их участия в каждом конкурсе.
