Тема: «My native town»


  1. Изучение и закрепление новой лексики на основе выполнения творческих заданий.

  2. Формирование умений применять полученные задания на практике.

  3. Развитие элементов творческой деятельности как качеств мышления.

  4. Воспитание уважения к своей малой Родине.


1. Образовательная: развивать навыки устной речи на основе повторения и обобщения ранее изученного и в ходе знакомства с новым материалом. Продолжать формировать умение работать с речевыми конструкторами, опорными фразами.

2. Развивающая: развивать способность к догадке о значении слов, к логическому мышлению, сравнению; навыки чтения с правильным интонированием, конструировать вопросы.

3. Воспитательная: воспитывать любовь к своему родному краю.

Оснащение: книга, карточки.

Ход урока:

  1. Орг. момент.

Who is on duty today?

What is the date today?

What day of the week is it today?

What is the weather like today?

  1. Речевая разминка.

— Do you like your town?

— Are there any parks in our town?

— Are there any schools in our town?

Listen and say what is it?

– You can see movies there (cinema).

– You can see doctors there (hospital).

– You can see animals there (zoo).

– You can see old things there (museum).

– You can change money there (bank).

– You can do sports there (sport centre).

– You have lessons there (school).

– Tourists can live there (hotel).

(Учащиеся работают в парах, запрашивая информацию о том, что есть в городе и где этот объект находится. При этом отрабатывается не только умение задавать вопросы, но и правильность интонационного оформления. Учитывается также культуроведческий аспект).

P1: Excuse me, is there a shop in your town?

P2: Yes, there is a shop in my town.

P1: Where is the shop?

P2: The shop is near the bus stop.


Mark: Excuse me. Do you know how to get to the mall? 

Betty: Sure, I used to work there. Go straight for about a mile, then turn left. The mall will be on the right. 

Mark: Do you know the address? 

Betty: Yes, the address is Kommunisticheskaya street. 

Mark: Can you write it down for me please? 

Betty: No problem. 

Mark: How can I get there? 

Betty: You can get there by bus or taxi. 

Mark: Thank you. 


Paul: Excuse me, I’m looking for the Idillia Inn. Do you know where it is?

My native town


I live in Rovenky. I was born here and I am proud to be its сitizen. The history of our town is bound up with the history of our country. There are 90 thousand people live in Rovenki. Lenina Street is the central street of it. Until recently Rovenki had a developed industry. There were: shoes factory, furniture factory, bread plant, oil plant, TV plant, to say nothing of mines. Besides there were two branches: Simferopol TV plant and Kharkov machine-tool plant.

Their workers produced furniture, shoes, TV sets, oil and other things which were in great demand. The trade mark of Rovenki could be seen on TV sets, shoes, furniture. But at present some of these enterprises have been stopped and looked for investors to start working.

In our town there are many schools, post-offices, libraries, polyclinics, hospitals, banks, shops, department-stores where we can buy everything we need.

There are many sightseeings in Rovenky. They are “Young Guard” and “Local Lore" (краеведческий) museums, Palace of Culture and Rest named after Gorky and others.

A splendid memorial “Glory” has been erected here. Now the tourists don’t come to visit our town. But some years ago the tourists from many towns and even countries came to visit our town and it made a great impression on them.

Many outstanding people worked and lived in Rovenky. The residents (постоянные жители) of our town participated (принимали участие) in the revolutions against serfdom (крепостное право), they took part in three revolutions and in Great Patriotic war of 1941-1945. Nine (9) of our countrymen are heroes of Soviet Union. They are: Belikov, Pokachalov, Malen, Burda, Titarenko and others.

6. Do you like your town?

I was born in a small village, where my granny lived. But a few years later my parents decided  to move to another place because they got jobs there. So, now I live in a wonderful town of Rovenki, which is located in Lugansk People’s Republic. The population of the town is approximately 50,000inhabitants.

The town is divided into several parts. There are a lot of the historical monumentsmemorials and museums in our town.

In general, the town is highly industrially developed. There are a lot of mines. At the same time it is a student town due to many educational establishments and schools. In addition, if you like to do outdoor activities or relax in the nature, there is a great park, which, by the way, make the town look green and fresh. I

This is the town of contrasts where the past is tightly connected with the present. I am really glad that I am its citizen.
