Education in London. Cambridge and Oxford.
The education system in the UK is divided into four main parts, primary education, secondary education, further education and higher education. Children in the UK have to legally attend primary and secondary education which runs from about 5 years old until the student is 16 years old.
At primary schools
- At primary school, children learn to draw with coloured pencils and paints, sculpt from plasticine and work with paper and glue, later they begin to learn the alphabet, learn to write, read and count. At the age of 11, children go to secondary school, where they study for 5 years.
The University of Cambridge is a collegiate public research university in Cambridge, England. Founded in 1209, Cambridge is the second-oldest university in the English-speaking world and the world’s fourth-oldest university .
Structure of Cambridge
Cambridge consists of 31 colleges and over 100 academic departments organised into six schools. The university occupies buildings throughout the town.
Cambridge has got many notable graduates like famous mathematicians, scientists, economists, writers, philosophers, politicians, actors, and 90 Nobel laureates.
The university is in the city of Oxford.. The oldest English-speaking university in the world, the first university in the UK. The exact date of the university’s foundation is unknown but the teaching there was in the 11th century. It is known as “ the ancient university» of Great Britain.
Structure of Oхford
The University consists of 38 colleges and 6 dormitories. Exams, most lectures and laboratory classes are organized centrally, and colleges conduct individual classes with students and seminars.
The main fields of students’ training are humanities, mathematics, physics, social sciences, medicine, life sciences and the environment.
