Theatre has been known since early times. Let’s read the text and learn when did theatre appear in England. (read) ex. 3 p.70 reader

Answer my questions, please.

Who built the first permanent theatre in London?

Who was the first leading actor in England? What roles did he play?

Who is the author of the plays in which Richard Burbage performed?

Who played women’s roles in the plays at that time?

How were the plays kept? Why?

OK, let’s do ex. 7.

Theatres of that time were different from modern theatres. Look at the pictures and read the description of the Swan theatre. What are the main features of an Elizabethan theatre?

English theatres are connected with the name of a famous playwright Shakespeare. He was the greatest and the best interpreter of human nature. The best theatre in England is “the Globe” theatre by Shakespeare.

I think you’d agree with me if I said that theatre is a wonderful kind of art.

tell me how theatre influences on our mind.

Theatre educates us, influences our way of life, helps us to solve problems, to find answers to a lot of questions. Theatre carries us away from real life into the world of imagination. But theatre entertains us; it is a place where we can have a good rest. We can enjoy ourselves listening to good music, splendid voices, and seeing the excellent acting of the performers.

My Fair Lady” is based on G.B. Show’s 1916 play “Pygmalion” and tells the story of Eliza Doolittle, the Cockney flowerseller chosen from the streets by a professor of linguistics and transformed into a lady.

You have two masks on the desks: a sad and a happy one. Which mask reflects your mood in the end of lessons? Show me your mood.
